Journey Into Deep Memory

Synopsis

The Journey into Deep Memory is a spiritual quest through layers of our consciousness, tracing roots of purpose and meaning through vast sweeps of time, deep into the bedrock of our collective origin.

These vignettes of luminous humanity are received by conscious channel Jean Christian, who is referred to throughout these pages as the Listener. The receptive space that is entered assumes the symbolic form of a great Library; a vast Atrium. This place is rather like a physic container for the memories of humanity; the theatre of the minds eye with its lid removed, open to witness all encompassing experience.

The Listener is often accompanied by her Friend, a curious and supportive companion, and they are met in the Library by The Elder, a mysterious and powerful presence. He is an ancient guardian and keeper of this sacred wisdom; an ever-changing and immaterial being. His voice is often narrating this multidimensional quest, sometimes playfully, yet always deeply profound.

Mirrored and explored within the structure of the book is the medicine wheel of the four directions, along with the Hopi myths of the four worlds. Illuminating quotes from many teachers, researchers, legends, and ancient texts grace these pages. These precious verses and wisdom statements are meant to emphasize and reflect the teachings of the Elder.

The intention of this manuscript is one of liberation. These teachings and stories were received in order to help us all expand our minds and open our hearts. To those who feel caught questioning their purpose, or despairing over this changing, and at times insidious world, this book imparts a vision of great scope and inspiration. It offers a taproot into freedom and inner direction, and helps us to become aware of who we really are.

Author Biography

Jean lives in a small northern town in British Columbia, beneath a mountain, surrounded by forests and rivers. She arrived here as an adventurous teenager in the 70’s and now has four daughters, four grandchildren, a husband and a thriving extended family.

Before living in town, she lived for 15 years in a wilderness valley, and while there learned to be alone, to endure silence and isolation, to grow food and raise children self-sufficiently. In those years, Jean studied and taught plant medicine and earned a diploma in Classical Homeopathy. After moving to town, she began working with people, providing guidance counselling, teaching meditation, practicing homeopathy and facilitating retreats.

Jean has written four other books which are compilations of Guidance talks given to groups over the past 30 years. These books are Compositions of Grace, Becoming Truth, The Golden Path, and the Tapestry of a Soul. Jean is also a harpist/composer/performer, a poet and a committed gardener.
